Dr Bernard Shiu

Dr Bernard Shiu is the current Deputy Chair of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (Vic) and the Chairperson of Australian Medical Association (Geelong Division). He is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer of Deakin University, School of Medicine.

He has a special interest in chronic disease management and is the co-founder of Victoria Post Acute Covid19 Study Consortium. He is an active researcher in Long Covid and serves as an adviser to National Covid19 Clinical Evidence Task Force.

Dr Shiu provides expert opinion to Department of Victoria often regarding management of chronic disease. During COVID19 epidemics, he served as a clinical expert so SaferCare Victoria providing expert advice to the government in Managing caseloads in
primary care settings.

Dr Victor Wong

Dr Victor Wong

Dr Victor Wong is a General Practitioner registered in both Australia and Hong Kong. He has practised in various hospitals and clinics for more than 15 years, and has mentored medical students and registrars.

Over the years, Dr Victor showed his care to the needy by providing healthcare service in a number of hostels and nursing home facilities. He also served as medical advisor for charity organization. Dr Victor believes in the importance of building up long-term relationships with patients as well as their families. He endeavours to provide continuing, holistic, patient-centred care.

Dr Victor enjoys badminton and piano. He looks forward to serving the Geelong community and making this beautiful place an ever-loving home.

Dr Jenny Huang

Dr Jenny Huang received her medical training in the UK and decided upon General Practice as a specialty after finding herself enjoying all the specialties she experienced during her training.

Jenny is passionate about knowing her patients, what is important to them, and helping to support them. For Jenny, this is about her patients physical health , as well as their mental and social wellbeing.

When Dr Jenny came to Geelong a year ago, she saw a way of life similar to where she grew up – New Zealand.

When away from work she loves swimming, kayaking, bodyboarding, painting, dancing and exploring nature.

Dr Calvin Phang

Dr Calvin Phang

Dr Calvin Phang is a general and interventional cardiologist at St John of God Geelong Hospital and University Hospital Geelong.

After graduating from University of Melbourne, he completed his basic physician training at Austin Health in Melbourne. He undertook advanced training in Cardiology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and Central Coast in NSW. He returned to Melbourne after securing
Interventional Cardiology fellowships at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and The Northern Health.

He is well-published and actively involved in multicentre trials, research projects and audits.
He is a reviewer for several highly reputable journals such as Eurointervention and Asiaintervention. He is also a reviewer for National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NHMRC) grants. He is regularly invited to speak at national conferences.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and an International Associate of the American College of Cardiology. He is a Senior Lecturer at James Cook University.

He is passionate about providing a high standard of care and compassion to all his patients.
He also believes in providing prompt communications to all his referrers.

Dr James Lindstrom

Dr James Lindstrom

James MBBS (Hons) BMedSc (Hons) FRACP FCICM is a respiratory, sleep and intensive care physician providing sleep and inpatient services at Epworth Geelong.

After finishing with the Sophie Davis Memorial Prize Monash University, James went on to train at The Alfred and Austin healthcare networks, including spending significant time with the Victorian Respiratory Support Service managing patients with complex sleep and
respiratory failure.

James provides care for patients with sleep disorders as an outpatient service at Epworth Geelong & identifies where subtle sleep disorders may be contributing to conditions such as hypertension, heart failure & headaches.

A Geelong local, James has a specific interest in sleep disorders and lung cancer. He has published and presented widely including in fields of asthma, sleep studies and various respiratory supports. James has teaching background and is an Affiliate Senior Lecturer
with Deakin University.

Outside medicine you can find him hiking, diving, running, eating and generally exploring this wonderful world we live in!

Dr Jossy Anthony

Dr Jossy Anthony

Jossy is a Consultant Psychiatrist and he started Reflect Health with the vision to provide not just affordable, high quality care incorporating various treatment modalities under one umbrella but also to help people grow through this process. The vision is not to compete
with anyone but to be genuine, innovative and true to our values.

At present my primary aim is to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment based on a truly holistic an d integrative approach, for a wide range of conditions. This is done through telehealth, face to face and at times home visits. I have a special interest in ADHD and
believe I provide quality assessment and treatment.

When he is not working, he enjoys time for himself through meditation and Yoga, playing tennis and badminton, updating his medical and mental health knowledge through reading and listening to podcasts and spending time with his beautiful family and friends.

Nicole Smith

Exercise Physiologist

Nicole Smith

Nicole is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a passion for helping individuals to gain confidence with movement and to improve their overall health. Nicole focuses of helping build resilience and self-efficacy within individuals, to allow people to progress towards their value-drive goals and have the confidence to self-manage their health.

Nicole uses motivational interviewing, alongside evidence-based principles to guide clients through their exercise and/or rehabilitation program. She regularly attends professional development workshops to stay aligned with health research.

Nicole has a passion for education, previously being a secondary school teacher, as well as raising awareness of health issues, normalising them where individuals may be suffering in silence with conditions that can be treated.

Additionally, Nicole works as a clinical reformer Pilates instructor within the centre, using Clinical Pilates equipment to help support clients to complete low impact strength exercises and to improve mobility. Nicole’s caring personal approach and professional guidance,
ensures that clients feel safe and supported while under her guidance.
